Important Announcement!
The NHS Talking Therapies service for Southampton City is leaving Dorset HealthCare and will join the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust from April of this year.
Why?
Joining other Hampshire based NHS services under one Trust creates a more integrated approach across the regions mental health system. It also strengthens links with local community organisations, and other public bodies such as the City Council, for example.
What Does It Mean For Patients?
If you’re already registered with the Southampton service, whether you are on a waiting list or already receiving therapy, you will not see a change, except perhaps in the headings of any paperwork you receive – your treatment and therapist will remain exactly the same.
If you’re thinking of self-referring to the Southampton service, please don’t hesitate! We’ll be happy to hear from you, however, please check the conditions below carefully.
You should be 18 years of age or more if referring between now and 31st March.
You can be 16 yrs of age or more if referring after 31st March.
Registered with a GP in Southampton City.
And, if referring using our online form, the last date on which you will be able to do this is the 22nd of March.
Telephone numbers are not changing – after 22nd March you can still self-refer via the telephone; just dial 0800 612 7000, or 02380 272000, and speak to a member of the team.
