How are you feeling?

Veterans and Armed Forces Family

Mental health conditions affect 1 in 4 people in the UK, including ex-members of the armed forces. Within Dorset HealthCare we have pledged to the Armed Forces Covenant and are passionate about making a difference to the experiences of those who have served in the armed forces and their families, including ensuring everyone has equal access to mental healthcare provisions.

For veterans, lived experiences encountered whilst serving in the armed forces, as a result of injuries, or as a result of adjusting to civilian life outside of the forces can all lead to deterioration in mental health, causing both physical and psychological symptoms such as feeling tired or lacking in concentration, having nightmares or problems sleeping, experiencing flashbacks, and increased anxiety or worry.

At Steps2Wellbeing we can provides a range of different types of support and signposting to help address these issues and improve people's quality of life.
