Guided Self Help

Guided self help means learning Cognitive Behaviour Therapy techniques which can help you manage your symptoms, but with the support of a practitioner.

Most of us will have tried to carry out a self help technique such as a diet or an exercise plan. However, we often find it difficult to stick to it or to motivate ourselves. Guided self help means someone guiding you to help your self. Much like a coach to help you stick to the interventions and motivate you.

Guided self help refers to self help that is supported by one of our Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs). They will provide you with information, resources, and tasks, to help you overcome your difficulties.

Guided self help may be delivered over the telephone or face-to-face with the appointments spaced out to allow you to work on addressing your difficulties between your sessions.
