Chronic Pain/ Fibromyalgia/ MSK

How we can support those with chronic pain, including musculoskeletal (MSK) problems, and fibromyalgia.

Living with chronic physical pain can have a detrimental effect on your mental health. Often, the things we do to try to avoid or cope with the pain actually make the experience of pain worse.

Suffering from chronic pain can feel like a constant battle of ensuring you're not pushing yourself too far, but still doing enough, whist trying to not focus on the pain too much. Coping with not being able to do everything you want to do can leave you feeling angry, depressed, hopeless and anxious, which in turn can reduce your ability to cope with your physical conditions. It is easy to slip into unhelpful patterns of behaviour and thinking that make the experience of pain much worse than it needs to be.

How can we help?

We have specialist cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) services for people with chronic pain, including fibromyalgia and Musculoskeletal conditions. CBT looks at the ways in which our thoughts, feelings and behaviours affect each other. Our trained and experienced CBT therapists will work with you to explore what changes you could make that would help you to cope better and feel better. We can?t promise to take your pain away, but we will support you to make choices and changes that will enable you to live the best life possible.
