'Out of the Blue' An exciting pilot in West Dorset

Thursday, 3 October

An exciting pilot has begun in West Dorset to help overcome the emotional challenges of motherhood.

This 6 session course is designed specifically to help mothers overcome thoughts and feelings that may be unhelpful in their lives. It can help with stress, worry and low mood and will give you skills to help break negative patterns in your life. Helping you manage to feelings of fear and anxiety, the course can also enable you to build the confidence needed to face difficult situations you may have been avoiding. The courses are facilitated by a trained CBT Therapist from the West Dorset Steps to Wellbeing Service and a Health Visitor.

The ‘Out of the Blue’ course is open to women who are either pregnant or have a child under 3 years old, who feel they are struggling emotionally with the challenges of being a mum. Groups are held in Sure Start Children’s Centres across West Dorset, North Dorset and Weymouth/Portland. Anyone who is interested in attending one of these courses can talk to their Health Visitor, Midwife, Children’s Centre or GP, or make a self referral to the Steps to Wellbeing Service
