Home Visits roll out in Southampton

Home Visits roll out in Southampton

Monday, 5 August

At Steps to Wellbeing, we understand that sometimes it is not always possible for service users to attend appointments for various reasons; some people have mobility problems, health conditions, or perhaps the nature of their problems stop them feeling able to leave their homes. To improve accessibility for these service users we are increasing our provision of home visits.

Over the past three months, we have provided home visits to over 142 service users in Southampton. We have dedicated therapists conducting home visits across the city; they are able to provide Low Intensity treatment and High Intensity treatment depending on the need of the service users. A high number of our home visits have been for service users over 65 years of age; many of these client were unable to leave their homes and may not have been able to access our service as a result. Since April 2013, we have treated 128 older adult patients in their own home.

Across Dorset, we are increasing access to our services through providing more home visits as the success and value of this has been so evident in Southampton.
