Service Veteran

Depression and anxiety can affect anyone at any stage of their life. Research suggests that up to 1 in 4 people will experience a problem with depression or anxiety at some point in their life.

There has been a lot in the press recently regarding the mental health of military veterans, and recognising that ex-military personnel can sometimes experience problems as a result of their job or in their adjustment to being discharged from the forces.

Some of the problems veterans might experience include:

• feeling down, depressed or hopeless
• fearful of going out
• nightmares, problems sleeping or flashbacks
• struggling to adjust to civilian life
• struggling with day to day tasks
• experiencing difficulties in relationships with family and friends
• increased worry or anxiety

The good news is that there is support out there that can help. The Steps 2 Wellbeing service provides a range of different types of support to help address these issues and improve people’s quality of life.
